Will I belong at the mastermind?

The first time I attended a Mastermind I didn't really know what one was.
But the pull was real to attend.
So, I managed my anxiety, but still allowed the nervousness.
I had found the coach from her podcast.
I was so damn nervous.
I'd paid $8,000. (1/2 of my yearly college tuition... gulp)
I flew to Dallas.
I booked a room for 7 days.
This was no impulsive investment.

Questions swirled.
"Will people be friendly?"
"Will they all be super needy?"
"Will I feel safe sharing?"
"Will I feel like I belong?"

That Monday, I entered a room of 40 people ready to be coached for 6 straight days.
I knew no one.
And, it changed my life.
The anxiety didn't leave, but the confidence in myself grew as I met each person and realized we were all in the same boat. And, man the people were impressive and kind and accomplished and funny and I was in heaven.

I barely opened my mouth the entire 6 days, but man... watching others being coached was powerful. And, the teachings were full of impact. As was the homework.

And, I so belonged.
Actually, everyone in the room did and we were all ages, shapes, genders, desires.

And, I keep in touch with several of those women to this day.
And, my network expanded exponentially because of those six days.

And, it was there and then that I decided to become a coach.
As did about 14 others in the room. Many of whom I went through certification.

You never know what will happen when you put yourself into new rooms.
You never know what will happen when you deliberately do something that will feel uncomfortable.
You never know what will happen unless you do it.
